Nvidia rolls out its fix for PC gaming’s “compiling shaders” wait times

Quality: 8/10 Relevance: 9/10

Summary

Nvidia has introduced a beta feature in its GeForce App that automatically compiles shaders while the PC is idle to reduce runtime shader wait times after driver updates. The Auto Shader Compilation system targets GeForce Game Ready Driver 595.97 WHQL or later and is configurable via Graphics > Global Settings. Nvidia positions this alongside other shader delivery efforts and notes ongoing collaboration with Microsoft to add Advanced Shader Delivery support later this year, with Intel also rolling out a competing Precompiled Shader Delivery approach.
