Singer or clanker? YouTube Music will tell you with new gen AI labeling.

Quality: 8/10 Relevance: 9/10

Summary

YouTube Music is rolling out AI content labeling to indicate songs created entirely or significantly altered by generative AI. Publishers can specify AI usage, with three tiers: fully AI, partially AI, or no AI. Google uses its AI content detection, SynthID watermarking, and C2PA metadata to identify AI music. Labels may not always be visible during playback, and absence of a label does not guarantee human creation. The rollout starts now in YouTube Music and will extend to YouTube videos.
