Reddit will force everyone to log in
Summary
The Verge reports Reddit will move toward a logged-in-only experience, starting with tests in select markets outside the US. CEO Steve Huffman argues that requiring login improves user experience and protects data, while enabling more relevant ads; the change comes as Reddit emphasizes the monetization potential of logged-in users and notes a decline in logged-out traffic during Q3 2026. The article also mentions the app’s incognito mode refresh and raises questions about how non-logged-in users will experience content during rollout.
