Tree-mounted machines connect to web app to let users knock on wood remotely
Summary
An internet-connected system enables users to knock on wood remotely via a web app. The project, Knock On Wood, is part of Machines Responding to Superstitions and connects tree-mounted knocker devices to a central server, allowing global triggering. It demonstrates how hardware, IoT connectivity, and design intersect to translate a cultural ritual into a distributed interactive experience.
